I'm 6'5" 240 lbs and the Honda does fit me a little nicer when sitting down cruising at a slower pace on the trail. They both feel the same to me when I'm moving around the machine lapping a MX track and the Honda 450R feels bouncy compared to the YFZ cause I'm too big for the stock shocks. The 450R does lift the front end easier than the YFZ, but my size allows me to keep it down with no trouble. My wife simply cannot open up the 450R very much without lifting the front end, though. Either of them is 100% better than my wife's stock 400EX on the track, but the slower you want to go on tight trails the better the 400EX is in comparison.

Red, Blue, or Yellow it doesn’t matter what is better. It looks as if everyone forgot or don’t realize that magazines only want to sell issues. What better way to sell issues is to have a shoot out in it every month! So these topics are out all the time controversy is what everyone buys into. Like moths to the bug zapper. I can’t even believe I read the whole thread.
Anyway a good rider will do well on any bike once familiar with it. Do you think Tim Farr would be losing on yellow? He has a career to think about other then his sponsors same way with Doug Gust do you think he would be losing on red? Just think about it.
So the whole topic is irrelevant what one is better.

I dont even want to answer your stupid question, but i will waste my time to do so. NO was not held back by a 400ex, the 400ex was farther up the track IN A DIFFERNENT CLASS. Did i pass a yfz through the whoops? not only did i pass him, i smoked his *** so you need to shut up. and i dont even know where the hell you thought up where a roost came from. I think you need to leave these forums with your ignorant crap, if you dont, i will.

So you passed the 2 in the class above you after they finished their moto and were sidelining? And you passed the other YFZ in the whoops while he was being held up by a 400ex, but you forgot to mentioned he covered you with roost in the next turn and never looked back?
(gotta keep it going. I'm 9)

stoic, i'm 6'1" as well, i rode my buddy's yfz a bunch of times before i ever even sat on a 450r, and immediately the honda felt more comfy. i do a lot of jumping at the dunes with flat landings, my only complaint would be that with the compression all the way up and the preload tightened up, the fronts still bottom on bigger jumps. as for everything else, i love that quad. the powerband on that bike is amazing, there's no peaks in power or anything, so it's super smooth aceleration.
hondaracer, thanx for the info. i have works buildin me a set of triple rate remote rezzie fronts right now, so that will solve my bottoming issue. the rear shock is amazing, i have yet to bottom it since i've adjusted it.

OMG OMG OMG...
Today my dad stopped by a roach coach (small mexican shack that he buys burritos from) He's gotten to be good friends with them.. he doesnt even have to get out of the car to order.. and is always first to get his order even if theirs a big line.. LOL..
Well ANYWAYS!! i had my axle out because he was taking it to his work (machine shop) to pull my carrier out, it was strapped on a trailer and one of the workers (he owns it??) talked to him about it and said he always wanted one, my dad said its for sell $5,000 and he said once its back together ok. SO pretty much, my bearing carrier is SHOT.. buying a LSR twin row from some one and installing it back together and selling it for 5k to this guy.. I will probably wait a tiny bit but im putting 5,000 down on a 450r!!! CYA GUYS!! LIKE WHOA
