Hey, you Honda guys just need to settle down. The 450R is a good quad......it's just not as good as the YFZ450. As far as out and out hill climbing, drags etc......well the Raptor spanks both. (***** leg up on side of Honda sandbox and walks away...Heh Heh)[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

I have yet to see one that could keep the front end down enough to outrun my STOCK Raptor from a dead stop. But get this, surely due to my size (6'5" 240 lbs), I can beat my Raptor when I'm on my friends' 450Rs. When I get way up on the tank and don't dump the clutch too much I can hold those things down nicely and keep my stock Raptor about 3' back until we get into 4th gear. That's the only real difference in power I've seen between the 450R and YFZ, the YFZ hangs with my Raptor all the way up to the last couple MPH and I *barely* pull on them.

In drag racing I'll pretty much always take the bigger engine. But how often do you drag race fourwheelers? And fighting those YFZs and 450Rs on the MX track this season has taken its toll on my pride, so I'll probably have a 450 of my own before the season is over.

DONT EVEN make me get on to the YFZ Reliability issues!!!!

I was the one who posted those dyno numbers.

a honda 450 with a full yosh exhaust and a hrc cam made 42hp
a z-400 with full pipe, cams, dyna, high comp. piston, ported head made 44
a z-400 with full pipe, rev box, fcr, intake cam made 40 (my bro in laws)
and a yfz with just a full pipe made 43

Those of u with the YFZ's, i cant stress anymore dont mod your motor........YOUR THROWIN UR RELIABILITY OUT THE WINDOW!

Well just to get my 2 cents in , i deffinatly think the honda is a better and smother riding quad than the raptor. The raptor has the shakes, but dont get me wrong they are torque monsters. The honda 450r is a new technology built quad, Well mybe they were smoking a little chinese Opium when they thinking about electric start. But, the raptors guys sure talk alot of guff, when i have never been beat in 300 foot drag by one. Although i havent come across a bigbore? The Honda 450r's are quick but i can say the same thing about the honda i have raced like 5 of them. Some where modded and some werent but i beat all of them too. I think they couldnt ride there quads or some thing. But when it comes to drag raceing with these high performance quads it comes down to the driver and how well he can get the whole shot and shift.

 

uve obviously havnt raced any raptors that had as many mods as you did then......
