Forget the MAG's and post your own shootout. We all have freinds that ride different machines so lets post our results. As for brakes, I have a sp335 duh, my pads wear out quick, but they do stop quick. Last time I replaced them I used harder pads will see what happens. As for shootouts and mud. Stock tires should not be used. Tire brands, models, and sizes should match, as tires are the most important thing in mudding, then ground clearance, then 4wd system being used.
So here is my results from our shootouts, but this was done with stock tires and not matching sets, so this is not a good shootout.
First the rides;
Rancher - Brother In-Law's bike
Rancher - Nephew In-Law's bike
SP500 - Brother's Bike
SP335 - My Bike
Following is list where one or more bikes could not make it but a least one did.
Hill Climb 1
SP500 -1
Rancher -1
Muddy conditions on hill
Hill Climb 2
SP335 -1 made in first climb others did make it in 2 or more attempts. Dry hill
Mudding 1
SP500 -1
No else made it. Since stock tires are 25 on SP500 and Rancher and SP335 are 24.
Conclusion: Tires make the difference so far!!

I don't know if your scoring system makes sense?
I have trip to arrange a shootout/competition between several of the big 4X4s and many people in this forum got angry. The post was "Will a Rubicon Owner Step Up To The Plate?" However all of the big bores were invited to compete. The mouthing went on for a while but there were never any takers that lived close enough to me to actually get together. I still think it would be fun to do it and post the results here.

about the contest, already did it and we all had fun. We all won, but if you must know the Sp didn't do any better than the Rubicon. But if Gregsims wants to compare let him. I've seen Ranchers and Kodiaks go where the Big Bores won't due to size and weight. So what does that prove. Nothing, lets just have fun!!!!!

I seen something simular to what you are saying,in MOAB.We were there during the EASTER JEEP SAFARI,so had chance to see many different machines in action some places the shorter wheel base did good some places the longer wheel base out done them. Each machine has it's place just as you pointed out.CM
