Default Interesting info on the NEW 4 stroke powerplants.....

I just stumbled on the Sidewinder website, to look for new gearing for my machine.
There seems to be a BIG PROBLEM sprocket companies are having with the "new"4 strokes
powerplants. Gears are being demolished at INCREDIBLE rates, long before they are supposed to
do so. It would probably benefit you to check their website out so you are better informed of
whats happening to them and as to what you can do to prepare yourself for it.
Click on the WARNING BOX on their website. Thought I'd pass on what I read.

Its called marketing.
They bash what you have and then....oh my god, they have it figured out, and you can order here.
Seriously, what it gets down to is maintaince. If its adjusted and clean and oiled, itll last. The big road bikes, which make about 180 hp, still use sprokets and chains, and they dont twist off the teeth....unless someone wasnt doing the maint. Bikes and quads that see dirt and mud, are tough on chains, and need to be watched for problems. Theres no secret there.

If you can afford Sidewinder sprockets and chain, you will have the best that money can buy. Not disagreeing with hondabuster, there is a marketing aspect to pointing out weakness. Sidewinder's Ti chain has almost twice the strength of any other 520 chain, that's a number that's hard to ignore. Not everyone needs the strongest chain and sprockets but if you want one less thing to worry about, save your pennies.

Don't 180 hp street bikes run a 530 chain?

This is the dumbest thing I have seen yet. Its a marketing scam and yes it is also a little true but when a 96hp banshee can still run a renthal sprocket and chain, I think my 42hp 450r is ok for the time being. If it makes you feel better, I also have a warning of my own.

****WARNING*****
Due to recent popularity of 4 strokes it has come to our attention that alot of riders are getting hurt attempting stupid things.
