Polaris deserves major credit for updating there Predator 500, unlike the 05 Raptors with new footpegs & parking brake... What a shame Yahama...you've put a frown on many Raptor owners faces by letting Polaris make you look like a cheap skate. Only in America!!!!

Both are great quads.....like many have said....the pred is probably your choice for the trails and maybe the 405r for the track(Although I would race the pred on the track too, I get along really good on the track) Also something to remember is that Polaris will cover you in about every aspect of the predator, if it breaks, they will fix it with no questions asked. I haven't had any problems with mine, and it is an early 03, and I ride hard too. The pred isn't that much heavier either, most people just don't know how much their own quad weighs. Their wet weight is all within 30 or 40lbs, I think. The pred and the rappy are dead even with weight. Polaris just likes to say how it is, and tells the wet weight, and the rest tell their dry weight. Both are great bikes though, just saying the pred needs a second look by many people.
