Default 450r vs '05 predator

I know this post has of 450r vs predator has been done before, but polaris has given the predator reverse and claims 50 horsepower. What do yall think is the better trail bike? Which one has more power in any version of the predator? I'm not tryin to start a brand war here just curious because i'm about to buy a new bike.

If you're talking straight drags, the pred will win. If you're talking MX with equal riders, the lighter weight of the 450R will prevail.

But, now that the pred has reverse (along with elect start) I'd consider it even if it is heavier and buzzier. It's one FAST machine. And, so far the ones I've ridden with have had zero problems.

Me, I'm waiting for the Z450.

Actually, on another thread, I think I read the added reverse, and dropped 3 pounds!

Depending on how you ride, the Predator takes alot more energy out of the rider to keep a fast pace on the trail. I've cruised one around a few times and it makes my Raptor feel like a featherweight.

One of 'em will probably last 12 months before it starts costalotta for maintenance and the other will be good for many years. I would look at the 450R or YFZ for moto or Raptor for trails.

It's all what you get used too. I feel the total opposit when I try a different quad. The steering on the Pred is effortless. I have a friend who races GNCC with me, and he has a YFZ, and took the Pred for a ride. He said he could not believe the difference in steering feed back. He said the steering was much better on the Pred then his YFZ.

No one will know till the 05s come out, i think the TLD will be pretty quick with the CLOSE RATIO TRANNY (sorry for the caps but everyone forgets about this big improvement, it can make huge difference) and the extra HP.

A good friend I ride with often with a pred has flogged it hard for over 2 years now and he's had zero problems.

My other bud with a craptor on the other had has had nothing BUT problems.

My Z has been bulletproof as well.

The Pred is a good machine. And fast as heck.

I didn't have a problem with steering effort, it was just that the Predator feels heavy when you try to make adjustments in the air or on tight trails where you need to change weight distribution quickly to set up for corners between trees or other tight spots. It just feels like a heavy machine even compared to my Raptor which probably isn't really that much lighter. I'm not saying it's like my Dad's Grizzly or anything, but it's definitely no YFZ or 450R either and tighter trails or more jumps make this even more apparent.
