I have a 86 and a 88 250R with 36mm. PWK carbs, V-Force cages, K&N filters, FMF Fatty pipe, and Turbine Core 2 silencer. The fuel consumption of both quads is the same. We rode with 2 raptors and a Z and they used the same amount of gas as we did. I figure 75 miles till reserve.

No real question really.

Just surprised me that my antique quads are at par with the new stuff as far as fuel mileage is concerned. Cant even compair speed and handling, I blow them away!

 

As I recall my bro gets around 19mpg with his fleet of 250r's. The 400ex guys I ride with average 25mpg. My Speed averaged from 19 to 26mpg depending on mapping. My 300ex averaged 28mpg. I think someone posted the v force getting around 10 to 11mpg. I dont know about raptors or z . My bro has saddled his 250r's with desert tanks . He was lucky to get 50 miles till reserve. The stock tanks are way to small for distance riding. .

 

I was riding with a Grizz, we went 70-75 miles till I went on reserve, both of my 250R' shared a 5 gal can of gas to top off.

Wow 28 mpg??? sounds extreme, but it is what it is.
