See this thread. Funny, I have never seen a post in the HONDA forum about broken frames! Sure, anybody can break any frame, if they abuse it enough. Is this just a bunch of BS???

Here's whats happening... Honda people Vs. Yamaha people.. People who own a yamaha are saying "look the 450r bent a axle, broke a frame.." and honda owners are saying "Look, yamaha's bike caught fire because of battery problems" WELL ITS A BUNCH OF NONSENSE!! Don't be brand loyal, it's bad for the size of your *****! I think the yfz450 is a very nicely built bike for all sorts of applications, as for the trx450r! Not one is better at ALL things than the other. It all depends on the rider. I wouldn't doubt if you abused ANY bike and jumped it off of a 90ft table top and wrecked you'd break a frame, or bend an axle.. And if any redneck tinkers with his battery or gets drunk and puts his bike close to the fire it WILL catch on fire *DUH* So stop complaining.. Yamaha fixed the charging problems with the 05 batterys, their great bikes. I haven't heard much about the honda but its a great bike too. I want the honda because i've heard from some of my good friends who own both (and a VERY nice group of people at winchester who had both there) said the honda made a little more bottom end grunt and the yamaha has more top end and sort of a "kick" in the powerband like a two stroke? Not sure without riding though. And that bottom end is what I need because I like to trail ride and im a fat *** so it would help (especcially when double riding with my gf)

Also, I talked to a guy about 25 years old at winchester who owned a 450r with a 480 kit on nitrous with about 16,000 dollars worth of mods.. He said this bike is a BLAST.. he said the only compliant he has is the oil tank is a little small. Not sure though??

There was a few people that said that their frame broke on the left side.. One of them said it was after 500 miles of nevada desert, and a few others said it was after a few XC races (Casing jumps, crashing, etc..) Another person said he was jumping a 90ft table top and crashed and NOTHING broke. So all Mild steel frames break so yeah. Z400's broke frames.. are they trash?? Yfz450 broke a few frames.. is it trash?? I've heard of a LOT of people breaking 250r frames and also 400ex frames.. DOES THAT MEAN THEY AREN'T GOOD QUADS?? NO!!! IF your abusing your quad to the extend of casing doubles so hard that your frame breaks then what does that mean?? Fix the weld, GUSSET your frame.. or stop freaking doing it over and over.

My point was that if there was a REAL problem, we would have heard about it here long ago. Otherwise, I suspect it is just brand-bashing????

It mostly is brand bashing. There have been a couple people who have broken frames.. but they deserved it for the way they rode. heck, some one even said they broke two predator frames, and a guy showed pictures of him breaking his LRD aluminum frame, nothing is indistructable.
