Default 400EX question

Hey everyone,I have a 2000 400EX with a Jardine exhaust, KN filter, Hot Cams Cam, and supposedly the carb is jetted properly. I just bought it used. My question is, it seems to bog out a bit at the high end of the RPM range, but not quite at the rev limiter. And its fairly hard to pick up the front end. Any tips on something that could be causing this? And what I could do to make 'er run a bit smoother?

The carb is probably too rich. Open the carb and see what main jet you have. I would guess it should be 155 to 165 but just guessing, not knowing all the info.

They are $5 a piece, here any way. Go to the bike shop and get a couple smaller ones. You want it so it still revs but don't go too small cuz' lean will burn it up. Check that # first then head to the bike shop.

The main jet is the one you need to change. The # is on it, hard to see sometimes but there. They normally don't go every #. It's like 155, 158, 160, 162, 165............. I would say a 160, and the next 2 up from there. If it bogs down on top end usually rich. If it gets hot or pops, it is usually lean(needs more fuel).
