Dissapointed in the 450r

I took a raptor off the line too last week. My man was right though, the rappy will get you at the end of 3rd beginning of fourth gear. The 400ex is a monster off the line. I can hang with my brothers CRF450r with too many mods too list. But at about 50 he walks away to 102mph where I top out at about 67.

Thanks for the backup
I think he got pissed off because he owned a raptor, and heard the words "gap".. Even when I said I still get beat in the long run. P.S Next sunny dry day ill take video of a race.

We are riding at Warrior Hill next week. I'll do the same. I will say though, you can climb trees with a Raptor if you can hang on and keep from joining the upside down club. It is a impressive machine when it comes to torque, but on tracks and trails, it is just to powerful/heavy to hang with the lighter lower displacement quads. I know there are guys that use them for that, and may God smile on there little souls. But not me. Even the Banshee is scary to ride around the tracks/trails. When we hit the pits, those are a blast, but when you are playing a game of inches, you need something with a little more control. I am happy with my little 400ex. I can hang with just about anything and it can do anything you can think of for a quad well. But hey, whatever you got, ride it, have fun and try to stay out of the intensive care unit. Remember you have to be to work on Monday. Casts suck!

The only 400ex that took me off the line was really a 440ex and this was when i stood my 450r straight up and had to let off.
I have no complaints with mine what so ever. I only use it for rec. use and it is fun as hell in the trails. Wheelies on demand, power-slides, and to just be able to throw it around because its so light is awesome.
I never rode my stock, but with the few mods that i have on mine i think its a rocket. Ill definetly have this quad for a very long time.
The kickstart in no way feels "un-natural" to me. Ive owned a 250sx, CR250, 350x all with kickstarts and the 450r kicks just as easy and comfortable as the others. What do you mean but a "un-natural motion"?

OMG OMG OMG!! my 1984 workhorse can beat a 720cc ds on nitrous !!
On a serious note, last night I went to mx races and there was 1 yfz450, 2 black 450rs, 1 custom chassis crf450, and 3-4 250r's. First qualifying round the black 05 450r from washington got the hole shot and ended up winning it..Final he got the holeshot again, and once again.. won again. Next they had a 1v1 450r vs predator, the 450r got the holeshot again but got caught up in a turn and the predator won that.

I dont know what is wrong with your friends 450r, you need to ride mine to really give you a perspective of how they run, ive ridden a piped 400ex and 450r (mine) and it was just no contest (btw, im getting a 400ex chassis to build so im not being biased or any of that crap). Torque, 450r pulls from anywhere out of nowhere. There was something wrong with that 450r man, they run much better than you described.

We raced the 450r and the 400ex and the 450r beat it with ease....
Which i figured it would. But say what you will the 450r's dissappointed me. I hope the YFZ runs better than the 450r, if not than their a bunch of hype also.
I'm in the process of buying another Banshee.
YAMAHARIDERONLY, Smartass the 400ex's out-run alot of atv's. And run with alot of them too. I think they are the Almost perfect all around sport bike "except for no reverse". Banshees are for speed only in my opinion "which they run great", raptors? what was the point in a raptor? from what i heard the yfz is the ultimate atv, so why make a raptor? the yfz i have never rode or raced.
And i have rode a Predator, 450r, Banshee, 400ex, Warrior, and the all i can say is, You want the real head rush than BANSHEE all the way. Nothing like driving a screamin' Banshee. Thats why i am buying another one. I love my 400ex but i want to get that head rush from time to time.
I think the 400ex is the Warrior of now. Except a hell of alot faster, lighter, better handling ect. Thats why you see so many out there. All around great atv's.
