Honda 650R coming soon

Heard some discussion about Honda releasing a 650R very soon. Apparently the quad has been raced and did extremely well. Not sure who was riding the quad or who was present at a desert race, in Nevada, just recently. The information came from two motorcycle mechanics, here locally, one of which attended the race. He stated it will weigh roughly 375lbs. and have great suspension. That is all he was told and that's all they would tell him. It is definitely a production Honda. This is all I was told. We'll have to wait and see.

KNOWSALOT confirmed to me that multiple new ATV models will be released by Honda at the dealer show in September. No hints were given as to what they could possibly be at all, but just hearing that Honda will release new models is exciting enough. My best guess from all the speculation and rumors floating around is that one will be this 650R or 650EX and a new "true sport-utility" small-bore 4x4. I doubt there will be a third new edition unless another model is removed from the lineup, but who knows. Updates are supposed to be made to some of the existing models as well. Hopefully this means Traxlok on the Rubicon and reverse and/or liquid-cooling on the 400EX. This may be a banner year for Big Red.

So which "desert race" was it? Should be easy enouth to look up the results and see how the bike actually did. Over the years, there have been a number of custom 650's showing up at desert races. Thing is, they have never done as well as one would predict they should.
Of late, Honda debuts its new bikes at the Baja 1000. Should be a great desert bike! Hope it's for real.
