Default HONDA RANCHER with mod's still slow???

ok first off i'm a pretty good mechanic... have had like 40 dirt bikes and a few atv's... had my rancher since 2001..it is 2001 4x4 ES... i am in military so always moving never had time to ride til now... bought a house... anyway.... put a K&N air filter on... drilled a bunch of very small holes in air box cover, put a K&N jet kit in carb, and tuned it correctly, also put a supertrapp isde 2 ... and also tuned it correctly... i also installed a warn unlocker.. so as can be a 2 wheeler...problem is .. even though engine breathes better, runs perfect and has a littler more grunt all round MY TOP SPEED STILL HOVERS AROUND 45-48 MPH according to it's speedo !!!!!!!!! how can i get it to move faster??????? i also romoved the fan, as it never seemed to come on so i assume it was broke... has better airflow now.. i will run a little marvel mystery oil. to combat heat... should not be a problem so long as moving.... anyone else have problems getting spped from these???

The 4X4 has a reduction gear that the 2X4 doesn't have, so that slows it down. Remember, this is a 530 lb. utility, that only has 329 cc's, not a 370 lb. sport bike.

Yeah you can do all the mods you want but it wont raise your top speed unless there is a gear change. Since its drive shaft you cant change gears, The only hope would be a bigger tire but might not be worth it.

good enough... eventually i will get a set of aluminum rims and 25 inch tires.... i have a reduction gear? good to know... answers my question why a stock 2 wwheel rancher goes 51mph... and mine with about $700 in mods still goes 48 or so.... power on low end is great... really surprised how weak it is on top.... but you said it/... 329 cc... and about 550 or so pounds..... she's fun enough like it is.... i just thought i would get more from her with these mods.......... but NOPE......

I have a 2001 that is basically stock engine wise, with 25" Mudlites and it maxes out at 52 MPH. Almost feels like a rev limiter at that speed.
