Default good for a beginner?

uh oh..im stuck in between a suzuki and honda. no doubt that hondas rule. i just visited the suzuki forum and it seemed half the threads were about z400s and problems with them. also, its rumored that the 2003 z400s have a weak frame. so all you guys with a 400 ex, have you ever found no reverse to be much of a problem? maybe just let out the clutch fast and spin it around? ive seen it done on a blaster but a 400 ex and a blaster isnt much of a comparisn. i would be riding with a rancher 350 4x4 so speed of a 400 ex would smoke it.

Ive always prefered not having reverse. It makes me feel more badass cuz I have a quad (trike actually) that is so performance oriented reverse isnt needed.

Only times Ive needed it have been backing out of my barn and pulling them is easy.

um, you DON'T need it. I ride almost exclusively on very tight trails and it really isn't too hard to hop off and lift the back of it and swing it around. Granted, it would probably be easier with reverse, but unless you are a lazy ***, it's not a big deal at all, even around here. btw, is your name travis? jw, cuz thats my name, and there aren't many of us... anyways, i love my 400ex to death, and have never had a single problem with it. pm me if you happen to be looking for a couple places to ride around here, i know of a pretty nice area of trails. you will have fun with whatever you get, no doubt.

Buying new I'd say Z400 but if money is a problem (and for most of us it is) I'd feel safer buying a used 400EX over the Z. Its cheaper and a lot less to go wrong with it but just as fun to ride. Reverse may be a problem for you at first but you will get use to it and never give it a second thought afterwards.........
