how about itp delta wheels with 26x9-12 mudlites in the front and 26x10-12 in the rear. turns out the rims werent as expensive as i thought so now they are thinking about gettin me that set up. how would the power be on my rancher with that?

I don't think saying that DDs are like stockers is very fair. Not sure what comes stock on a Honda, I will admit. In the AC and Yamaha world the stock tire tends to be like a 3 ply "something". The AC's tend to have Titan 489's or Dunlaps. I want to say the other common one is a Goodyear. In short, good all around tires but no frills. Decent performance at a low cost for the manufacturer. Any way the DDs are 6 ply and carry what I would call a more adressive tred than just about any stock type tire I have seen on any make quad. Same goes for the Mud Lite.

I just went through this when I re-shoed my AC. After a lot of reading I found the DD, the Mud Lite, and a Titan 489XT fit my needs. Trail riding with the ocassional mud hole. Hard pack and asphault was key to me due to time at car shows and the track. I wanted a strong side wall to help resist rolling of the tire on a turn. I also liked the tred of the 3 mentinoed as they have a contact patch down the center to keep a smooth ride on hard surfaces.

Any way, any of the 3 should do. You mentioned 50/50 so I am guessing hardpack/mud???

As for overall height. Your stick size is a 24. When you look at it going 26 only gives you an inch overall additional clearance. This is if the sizes are true. I have head, side by side, the DD are actually shorter than advertised. I was not able to check first hand. IF you can go 25's with out upgrading then I say go that way. The 26 only gives you a 1/2" any way (on paper). Is it worth the $$ for the rims? That is unless you just want the rims then I say go for it.
