Is the 300ex worth the extra 1200 or w/e it is over the blaster?

 

it will outlast the blaster.

 

well all i can say is a 300ex is dam near bullet proof just change the oil and adjust the valves and keep a good clean air filter in and they will run forever. The blaster is a 2 stroke so more rebuilds and plugs but fun peppy bike. as for money the 300 def. worth the difference in the long run if u add in shop time. both are bout same speed but the 300 is a little faster but better built and better suspention and little bigger bike.

 

I would go with the blaster. They are fun and have more power. Its not beefed up so it will last long. Unlike most other 2 strokes.

pretty much comes down to brand loyalty and if you like 2 or 4 strokes. i would go for the 300ex or even better a 400 ex. you can upgrade the blaster more then a 300 ex but you can also go through top end rebuilds wicked fast i here. to me its not worth it for so many rebuilds so i will stick with four strokes and have dependability.

 

trav do u have a bike at all iv seen u in alot of posts asking questions and now i see u here giving advice on what to get yesterday u were asking about a z400 and should u get a 400ex and how hard is it to turn around with out reverce lol.

You are comparing apples and oranges. Price should not be deceiding factor. There are many very happy blaster owners who would not buy a 300ex at half the price. These are often families who own Banshees or other 2-strokes and want a new ride for their kids to grow up on. They know how much fun a blaster can be. With just a pipe, filter, and jets added as the rider learns to handle increased power, the blaster can be the perfect kid/small adult learning/growing quad. On the other hand, the 300ex can also be a great ride. In my opinion, the 300ex is more suited to the non aggressive rider who's main objective is that it start up and run with absolutely no hassle and who has less desire to start riding hard and to learn advanced riding techniques. For the aggressive riders the 300ex will very soon be underpowered and they will be faced with expensive hop up alternatives.

 

If you ask this question on the Blaster HQ owners forum you will get very different opinions.
