Default Best shocks?

Hey. I am ready to buy the shocks for my project. I know that Axis and the fully adjustable Elka's are the best, but I am not looking to spend 1500 on a set.

I know that:
Triple rate Elka's without rezzies are about 500
Pep race shocks triple rate with rezzies are a little over 550
Works triple with rezzies are about 500

Pep triple ZPS are about 850
Elka triple with rezzies are about 850.

I would like to spend 600 or less, so the top three are my choices, I am leaning toward the Elka without rezzies.

I am wondering about the difference the rezzies would make for my riding. It helps with cooling and keeping the shocks consitant, but I don't race or MX or anything, so I may be able to get by without them.

Again, I know the fully adjustable Elka's and Axis are best, but, money is a concern.

Any thoughts?

They are too new for me. I havent seen any reviews of them, so i am hesitant about them.

Well you are incorrect about which shocks are the best, PEP/ZPS are by far the best shocks available. Only problem, it takes many many months to get them. My first set took 10 months and the last set took 6 which is absolutely ridiculous. Wayne (owner of PEP) has lost so much business over the past 12 months because people just cannot wait that long for shocks any more and many people have moved over to Elka's, mainly because you can get them in 2-3 weeks. But make no mistake, PEP are still the best shocks!

Well if you dont even ride mx, you dont need elkas...for trail riding I would get nice cheap works shocks.

I have bought 2 sets of works shocks. They are good for the average rider or recreational racer. If you are not riding real hard rezzies aren't even needed.

if you dont ride for extended periods of time like over an hour of fast riding you dont need resevoirs. they are there to keep the shocks cooler than without by added more oil. for the money the elkas are the best and you can get them pretty quick.
