Starting a Honda in gear
#1
Anyone know how to make your Honda start in gear, Maybe pull the plug on a sensor or make a minor wiring change. I know it can be done because you can buy a special switch to do just that.
(I am to cheap to spend the $60-$80 for the switch At ATV Charley's) So if someone out there knows How, Can you please let me know I am interested in doing this on a Rancher

I installed a start-in-gear switch on my Honda. There's a green wire w/red tracer that runs into your starter solonoid. Tap into that wire and run it to a grounded switch. I used a doorbell button from a hardware store. If you search this forum it's been explained in further detail many times.

There is an even easier way.On the side of your clutch perch is a small switch with two wires.disconnect the wires from switch and reconnect them to each other. This basically makes the starter think that the clutch is pulled in when its not and will now start when in gear.Keep in mind that this is bypassing a safety feature so be careful.Cost-10 minutes
