Default recon fuel problems

i have a 97 honda recon and recently when i go over rough or bumpy terrain and also on jumps the motor starts sputtering like its out of gas, i have tried it with a full tank, and still the same result. it sputters for about 30-45 sec. and goes back 2 running smooth again. i have no clue what the prob is and any help is appreciated!

I took it to the Honda Dealer and they said thar it is most likely vapor lock. Check the hse that comes out of the top of the fuel tank and make sure its clear. The slightest kink can cause vapor lock, and that can happen when landing jumps.

Your carburator float may be set a little high, and it is flooding out in the rough stuff.

Is there any fuel coming out of the tube underneath the carbuerator when you go over the jumps?

I've seen 2 recons withthis problem. Any time you go up a steep hill or pop a wheelie they will die. On one of them we even tried a differnet carb off of one that was running fine and it still done it.

If its just sitting there, idleing in nuetral, and you raise up the front end, will it die? Will it do that every time? How high off of a level surface does the front tires need to go, for it to die?
Did you try removing the baffle at the bottom of the main jet ? Is the float level correct? Is there a bunch of crud in the float bowl?
In the other thread, gimpster said he fixed one by replacing the stator. This may be a long shot..but if the bike will die everytime you raise the front end due to the stator, you should be able to verify this with an ohmeter. If it does die when raising the front end, then ohm check the windings of the stator, both when its level, and when its raised, and see if the readings are different.
