Well determining by what you said your abviously a chevy guy. I got my 2002gt in 2001 for 23,000 out the door. There is no way you going to pick a subru for that much. Also why would yo want a camero ss they dont even make them any more. Get the cobra that cost 33,000 and can take the 65000+ z06. And saying that the Ford is cheap because of going to a supercharger, well its a 4.6 compared to a 6.0. Not much handicap there or any thing. And if your talking mods........ a 60.00 dollar pully for the supercharger Will give the cobra 20- more hp. Oh ya another thing i guess you can pick a mitsubishi evo. for 36,000, Lets see here thats 12000 more than a gt. and that wont come close to the Cobra. Believe me, i can take an evo and lancer i have raced both. I am changing my sig to show whats all done to my stang.

 

I ran a 13.8 in my 02GT and its stock! only thing I have on it is a steeda short shifter and that doesnt even make a difference. 96-98 Gt's didnt come with PI heads like the 99-04 so those were sub 15sec cars. Ill admit hittin 13's on a stock GT is hard took me about 20runs to do it but it IS possible. my other times were in the 14.2-14.4's. As for the guy that says 03cobras run 13's, you probaly saw a 99 or 01 running the 1/4. 03's can run consistant mid-12's all day! oh and no it wasnt 50 degree weather and I wasnt on slicks, I did it in phoenix where it was about 85degrees on my BFG T/A's. Once I find my slip ill post it on here and prove all u guys that think a little 260hp soch 2v is slow wrong...

not 400. 400 and the cobra is listed at 13.1 by both mototrend, and car and driver. never again say a 390hp 4door mustang will beat a 405hp 2door corvette. i love the svtcobra but it isnot faster then a z06

 

im just talkin on everythinh i have ever read on '03 cobras. the fastest i have ever seen a cobra listed at was 12.8. i might be thinking the convertable is what is at 13.1 ill double chea. but i dont see 390hp making it in the low 12's.

 

Well if were as smart as your answers where you would know that ford puts 390 hp and 390ftlb on specs because they dont want some guy running it on a dyno and getting and getting something like 399 or 398hp and b!tching about it. The car truly creates 400hp. Check the some of those dyno graphs in the magazines. And i will say again that it is faster than the z-06. Me and yfz-blu must be getting that 12.6 time out thin air. Also its was either CAR & driver or Motor Trend that did a article on the cobra . They added bossani exhaust and changed the pully on the supercharger and ran a 11.9. IF YOU DONT BELIEVE ME LOOK IT UP.

 

I dont know why this guy keeps saying 13.1..I would always see a cobra at the track and every time they all ran under 12.8 and yes that is fast enough to be a Z06. I think you just cant face the fact that Ford is doing just as good with their 4.6 as chevy is with their almighty 5.7. The way I see it the z06 is about 660lbs lighter, has 15hp more and is just as fast as the cobra? Seems to me like chevy isnt doing sumthing right here....

 

Actually the Z06's have a 6.0L in them now.
