why do people think Honad is so good ?
To each their own. It a good thing we dont all think alike or there'd be nothing to talk about. There wouldnt be any competition either, and everything would stagnate. Yamaha needs honda , to push them to be better, just like you need a competitor down the street to make you work better.

Remind him that the 05's get 475cc, front self cleaning dual disc brakes, Rincon type styling, and plus still have electric shift or foot shift w/ auto clutch and push button 2X4/4X4. Very sweet.

coyote ... he already got it. he really wanted an '04
i hadn't heard about th 05's or i would have told him.
i really havent even still heard anything other than what you just said.
sounds like they might be headed in a good direction. although the 450 was just as good as most Honda folks care about.
he might not have bought an 05 cause it would have had "more things to tear up "
but i'm gonna have t research them some to see how they changed.

The first thing that ever broke on my 87 250r was the clutch basket and that was last Christmas. Not bad for 16 years. My boys 1985 ATC70 still runs every day.
Honda put a kick start on the 450R as a safety device so people that can not start it can not ride it with out qualified supervision.

i like honda because they have a good reputation in reliability, but i mostly ride with honda's, couple guys with polaris, one with yamaha....the yamaha has been in the shop 5 times now, and he's had it for about 4 months, course its a '94

Just because you are in the honda forum doesn't mean you need to bash yamaha. I can't claim I have ridden all the machines for any certain make, but I have driven alot of wheelers including honda and I like hondas, but I would not give up my wolverine for any Honda.
