Squeaking front shocks?
#1
Does anyone have a procedure on what to use for oil on the front suspension, and where exactly to oil it? The suspension on the front of my 400 ex is starting to squeak when going over bumps etc. Any help would be awesome, thanks.

I just fixed mine this weekend. My right lower shock bushing was squeeking like crap. I took it apart and it was obvious they forgot to lube it at the factory. There is a sleeve that the bolt goes through. The sleeve rides on the bushing. The bushing is metal and looks like some sort of Oilite metal. There are diamond shaped grooves that hold the lube. The manual calls for Molybdenim Disulfide Paste. I looked everywhere, the dealer, auto parts places. Nobody had it. I finally found some at the Ford dealer. Slapped some of it on the bushing and now it is super quite. I am pleased.

My Mojave squeaked like that and I pulled the shocks, checked the A-arm pivots, shock pivots, problem wasn't there. I then removed the shock springs and pulled the plastic, shock shaft guards out, put it all back together and no squeak.
