is it true if you put a 350x top end on a 300ex it will add 17hp? almost doubling it? i just find this hard to believe

 

ive heard of putting the ENTIRE 350x engine in the 300ex havnt heard about just the top end,,,,

 

yeah if you put them side by side like a twin.LOL.seriously if it will work you basically have a big bore and with stock cam and head should probably add appx 4hp peak over stock 300.Add cam port work ,exhaust,carb,various other nick nacks and you could probably get it up to 30hp.

 

It wont work, the top ends are different, something about the cam I read.

Even if this swap were to work, I dont see how combining the bottom end of a 17hp bike and the top end of a 23hp bike can create a 35hp bike.

The 350x head conversion will not work. You can go as big as a 465 big bore or i heard you can put an XR500 Head on a 350x lower.

 

yea i thought it seemed a little too good to be true.
