Rincon slow throttle response
#1
I have an '05 rincon and it seems to bog down a bit sometimes when i "slam" the throttle. For example, if usually won't wheelie just by mashing the gas, i have to throw my weight back most of the time. Any thoughts on this? Improper carb settings? Is there something i should check on the throttle? It still has speed (little over 60 mph), just low end seems to lag. Should I just bring it back to the dealer and have them check it out under warrenty?

You might be asking too much from it. Did it ever pull a wheelie , without tugging on the handlebars? It might just be normal for that torque converter type tranny. Fluid level ok in crankcase?
Is the bog, right off idle? Try a mixture screw adjustment, you may be a tad lean. Out is richer.

It has pulled a wheelie before without me even trying... on flat ground, no hil or anything. And i've read others say that it's no problem for them on their stock bikes. and i'm only 180 lbs. I also know nothing about rejetting.. does anyone know where you can download the service manual in .pdf or something?

Carb probably needs to be re-jetted from the factory preset. I have heard that the Rincon has weak low-end power and that a Rubicon can out-pull it. This didn't surprise me as the Rincon seemed to have a sportier setup than the Rubicon.

Thanks for the suggestions guys... solved the problem though: Opened up the carb, clipped the spring in half. Now the only thing keepin me from a wheelie every single time i hit the gas is that the stock tires spin too easily. I'm still gonna rejet later but for now i've got the throttle response i was looking for.
