I have a green Rubicon with about 45 miles and I love it. No problems so far, but I have a question about the fan. Almost every time I kill the motor, the fan will engage within about 5 seconds if the key is left on. It will run for about a minute. It also comes on when riding slow trails. Is this normal? Should I let the fan run until it stops and then turn the key off?
Thanks

Mine does that, also. There must be a computer-controlled temp sensor that tells the fan to run for a pre-set time. Quite a bit of air being moved by the fan.

It is coming on when riding slow on the trails because there is not much air flow to cool it off. The fan will force the airflow. As far as it coming on after you kill the engine, it is acting like a car trying to cool the engine. As with TxDoc2, mine does this also.

Thanks, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't running too hot. It must have a low engagement temp. I ride with a 2001 Kodiak and his rarely comes on. I appreciate the info.

Same here, the fan goes on quite a bit. It seems to come on at a lower temp than other liquid cooled machines, which to me is a good thing. If the fan is on when I turn the machine off, and I know I'm gonna ride it again soon, I usually let it run its course. If I'm not gonna ride it, it doesn't pay to let it run.

You guys are just not use to a liquid cooled machine, don't you love the way it keeps the engine cool. Don't start worrying till the fan doesn't start coming on...this is regular for a water cooled machine...
