Default Brake problem

After applying the rear brake and letting off of it, it stays hold and makes a nice, really loud, squeek, then it lets go. It does not do it if you loosen the adjusting nuts, but them it wont hardly stop. Took the drum off and the brakes are still good. I also cleaned them while I had the drum off and it still does it. What is the problem? It is a Rancher

Is the return spring still hooked up? Its the one on the outside of the drum, on the arm. The moving surfaces of the brake cam need some lube on them, just a dab of grease should do it. Thats the rotating piece, that separates the shoes.
