How Fast Is Your 440 EX?
#1
I was thinking about purchasing a 440 big bore kit and wanted to know how fast it might go when installed. Please post your top speed and any other mods. that might have helped, ex. jet kit, cam, exhaust. Thank You.

I rode my friends 440, and wasnt too impressed. I dont think he had it tuned very well, though. I also doubt he had aftermarket carbs. It did wheelie very well, though, it just picked up in any gear.

Out of 416 kits,426 kits, and 440 kits i felt more comfortable on the 416 kit because its still fast as ever, i can pull YFZ's and 450r's on the 416 but then agian we all do have our own opinions.

Well when you all can say a u are impressed with a raptor other then power, then you can talk.
- as for the question, in comparison my 440 will pull a STOCK raptor except for top end. It has loads of torque, it doesn't top out fast (about 70) because I have it set up for low-midrange power for trails and mx. I am very pleased with my ex now.

440's are more of a tractor/torque motor. They are not fast period, and they dont rev quickly unless you lighten your flywheel. For speed and still great bottom end the 416 is the only way to go.

the 416 and 426 are very similar. the 426 is 1mm larger on piston diameter. i have a 426 right now. my buddy has a 416. if i had to do it all over again, i would have gone with the 416. i did the 426 right and got a new sleeve with it. it was just a pain to wait for the sleeve to be installed. the 416 was just more simple. all in all, you shouldn't notice much if any difference.
