Default Stock Bore with 11:1 Comp.

I just ordered a wiseco piston. I got stock size bore with 11:1 compression but i got .010 over rings. Im going to has my cylinder machined smooth and im goin to file the rings down to fit perfect. I had Stock piston and comp. before do u think i will notice the power difference now that its goin to be 11:1 instead of stock. I also got new valve seals so the compression should be all there. what do u guys think. I have K@n filter w/ no lid and WB R4 exhaust.

Zeak what quad is this for? If it's the LT you'll probably notice a slight improvement just because your current setup may be gettin tired. I dont think you should file your rings, instead have your cylinder matched. This is the proper way. I personally would have went with a higher compression because the gains are more significant. Also while you have your motor apart you should have your cylinder/head ported/flowed.

If this is for the 400ex in your pics I dont think the 11:1 will net any noticable increase. Return it and get a 12:1. Also look into a cam setup. Hotcams are an inexpensive option that will definatley give you good bang for the buck. Also consider going to a 416. It will only cost you a slight bit more and the difference is night and day.
