I heard 400ex shocks will work, but you need to weld new shock mounts a little higher then stock on the frame.

...and a 350x rear shock. Though there could be others.

i used a set of raptor front shocks with a set of 250r a arms, I had to make a set of bushings for the a arms and grind down the 250r bushings in length, the upper mount i fabbed too and was real simple, it's now wayy smoother front end with a +2 width i think, i got the swingarm lengthened by +3 and still want to get a raptor rear shock for it but that can wait a little while, the raptor front shocks had to get ground a little but was'nt too hard, check out my pics page n see the stretched 300ex for my chick, we ride dunes pretty much exclusively and it has made the suspension on par with a 400ex i'm guessin, I'd say it's got 8" front travel and around 9"+ in the rear. wayy better n more stable in the dunes. i was looking for a set of 400ex shocks and got outbid on them on ebay n then won the set of raptor shocks, and they've been breat so far. lates, josh....

A Warrior shock will bolt right in, as well as a 2001 Raptor shock. The only thing with the Raptor shock is you will have to get a longer hose to mount the resivoir on the frame, both shocks are a lot better than the stocker, and if you keep an eye out, can be had fairly cheap, especially Warrior shocks. I bought a kit off ebay to mount 400ex shocks on my son's 300ex, and put 400ex a arms and tie rods on front as well. Makes a huge difference in ride and handling, and the 400ex a arms bolt right in, no mods.

Where would you get a longer hose? Can it just be from a plumber store or an OEM one?
thanks

Since it is the standard banjo type fittings, brake line would work, find a longer piece and bolt it in.On mine, Rath Racing retapped the hole for a braided steel line like an aftermarket shock and put a longer line on.
