Default 400ex pipe/pipe kit near stock db level

Hey, My buddy just purchased a 400ex. It's his first quad so he's happy with it now hes going to be putting skids on it I made sure of that, I dont want him bashin up his investment. Down the road in a little while he's going to want to put a pipe on but where he lives is a small comunity. There is a large trail system near by and its a private comunity so he doesnt have to worry about cops being on the road. All of his neigbors said they dont mind him putting down the road as long as he doesnt rattle the dishes off their shelves (being loud). So... I dont know anything about aftermarket for 400ex i dont own any hondas myself other then a powerwasher so... whats the best aftermarket slipon or full exaust that holds pretty close to stock db levels or at least still real qiet. FMF quiet core with powerbomb header???

Thanks

My 400EX has an FMF PowerBomb header and PowerCoreIV muffler, with spark arrestor screen. It was quite a bit on the loud side, so I put in a quiet core. That gets it down to the Calif. 96dB limit, so I can ride in the national forest. Still, I think the average forest visitor would say it is pretty loud!

If he really wants to be stealthy, the FMF Q is supposed to be very quiet, like down in the mid 80dB's. My PowerCore got damaged in a crash, and I think I will eventually replace it with the Q.

The FMF Q is what I was trying to think of, they are pretty darn quiet.

I have a fmf powerbomb header with a q series muffler on my 400ex and I really like it. Its weird, just putting around the yard and woods, you can hardly hear it. But when accelerating or otherwise hitting the throttle hard, it's got a pretty good bark to it. Still, its not anywhere near as loud as most aftermarket exhausts'.

that sounds like what he is looking for. he just has to put down the road quietly, once he hits the trails it can be louder. Q series.
