Default Buy a barely used 1988 250R?

Ive got an opportunity to buy a 250R that is a friend's wife's quad that is barely used, original owner. Ive driven it once and it is awesome. I am torn between buying a legendary quad versus investing my money in one of the newer quads. Is the 250R still a high performance quad worth getting? Should I get a hardly used, stock 250R when I have the chance?

if u are not racing for a living, then there is nothing wrong with 2 strokes. sure 4 strokes are becoming the majority, but by racers. just because they are running them, doesn't mean u can't have fun with a good ol' 250r.

Not sure what you mean by "holding value" since the new 450's are available. In stock form, the new honda and Yami would at least be on par, performance wise, compared too the 250r. That is beside the point IMO. I would love too have another 250r in excellent shape if the price is right. If the price is decent (under 4K in excellent shape) you gotta get it. If for no other reason than too keep it in excellent shape and show our newer atvers where the sport came from. If the price is over that, IMO, it's a no brainer, a NEW 450 (450r ).

If that thing was in real good shape than it would be a great investment because all 250r's are quickly becoming very valuable so that could mean for you some major $$$$.

Good luck.

I'd buy it. In a modified state you won't find any other modified quad that will handle like the R...and you can make that thing have
serious power.
