lol...i guess we ride different in kentucky (round this part anyway) there are alot of tracks round here, profesionally built, and homemade, and nobody that i ride with or have talked to "protect the bike" as there first priority. full chasis skids dont save much more than the paint on the bottom of yr frame. and as for the swing arm skid...y fix if it aint broke yet. the way i see it a pipe and filter always come first, then the "protection" nerf bars dont protect u against much anyways, mayb a few branches everynow and then but...i've been ridin hard for about 5 yrs (which isnt much compared to most of u guys) but i have owned alot of quads and neither me or any of my friends have had a wreck or a lil run in and stood back and said "boy i wish i would have had nerf bars"
so for a trail machine i would just go for that lil extra "grunt" before i worried about protecting by boots or the paint on my a-arms. and im not tryin to step on anyones toes, but who cares much about the extra weight u save by switchin to a performance chain, the stock one will get the job done and if yr trail riding u wont even notice the minimal weight loss, a chain just wouldnt be worth the money.
