Ever since I had my 200SX my steering rod has been bent on the left side, and I noticed the tire on that side is losing it's tread fast. And I know it's the steering rod that's doing it because the tire is turned a bit when I have the handle bars straight. I was wondering how much is a new steering rod???, I checked dennis kirk I didn't see any.

they are 21.00 at the Honda shop.Thats not real smart.....Driving with a bent tie rod and toe out.It can't steer right. If you wanna keep tierods on this bike you'll have to get some aftermarket shocks because they are to stiff.

mine on my 250x is bent on one side......dunno why cause i crashed on the other side, any ways, shotrt term solution is to adjust the tow in to suit

or take it off and get it bent straight......preferable cold-bend (try not to heat it....will weaken it)

or get one made up

careful to remeber that one end is threaded in a different direction to the other!

unless it was majorly bent i can't see how it would increase tire wear

.....inflation of tires is more the problem there

....shocks??....if ya wanna spend big doe on stuff like that, get a better bike, but don't sell the 200sx!

On every sx i've rode the shocks are messed up and won't move an 1/8 of an inch.therefore when you hit a bump instead of absorbing it bends.

Well the back shock is fine it's got some travel to give just the front ones are stiff but they are awsome off jumps...they never bottom out.

I think I'll just order a new steering rod they are like $20 I think.

And pudding I'm not getting rid of my 200SX. When I get a new atv the SX will be for friends to ride. It's a nice quad really, it has some ups and downs but I'll hang on to it for a while yet.

ATV_MAN your right for not getting rid of the 200sx.
I have a new 2001 rancher, but I still have my 200 sx for playing around with or for friends.
