Default 250R Pi$$ing me off

I need some advice. I literally just finished completely rebuilding my 1986 TRX250R yesterday. My signature below contains all of the aftermarket parts that I have on it that are brand new. This thing has 0 hours on it since rebuild. Well I went to tighten the motor mounts today and found a crack in the right side of my engine case which leaks oil. I love this thing to death but I am tired of dealing with this crap. I go to college and it is hard enough to find time to ride let alone time to turn wrenches on this thing. I'm not trying to sound like a whiner but do you know how frustrating it is to invest $3,000 and months of work into a project and then find a huge flaw? I would love nothing more than to keep it but a new YFZ is sounding pretty good right now.

Definately sorry to hear that.
Who was responsible for cracking the case?

Definately is going to have to be fixed, and depending on the severity of the crack, may need to be replaced altogether! I believe a new one runs close to 300 bucks?

Too much silicone or Hondabond, etc in the bolt holes will cause the end of the hole to split when they are tightened down. I've seen it happen several times. The cases are thin and dont give much. Dont know if this is what happened to yours or not, but thought I would throw that in.

I've had some time too cool down, so I'll probably just fix it. I'm gonna XC race this quad and I want to make it bullet proof so I will probably just replace the case. Thanks for the replys.

Just to fill you guys in on what happened, I went above and beyond. I ordered two BRAND NEW right snd left case halves from Service Honda that should be getting here any day. I'm also going to install a new top end with EBC clutches with kevlar and heavy duty springs. Also got all new oil seals and gaskets, of course. The engine had almost no time on it anyway but hey, if you are gonna do somethin'....do it right!
