400ex trade for 250r?

A 250 R will hold it's value. You could always sell it for what you paid.

Keep the 400EX, all the time and money you will put in to the R you could be tricking out your 400.

I didn't say that. But if you look up the value of a 86 250r ($2705) compared to a 99 400ex ($5215) you'll notice the 400 is worth twice the amount of a 250r! These are retail values too. So that is my point.

I have thought of this many times, and I have come to the conclusion that I would just rather wait and save the money to buy a 250r than to trade a new 400. There is not much logic in that to me. I know that is the sought after quad out there, but just like the other post said the value difference is like trading your new truck or car for a 12 year old model. Even the older car may go faster than your new car it still is not a logical choice. Don't get me wrong I have seriously tried to talk myself into it also.

But will your 400EX be worth as much or more than you paid for it in 11 years?
