I've emailed Maxxis twice about the tires. I'm really wanting those for my DS. The 6ply rating is what I'm after for my heavy quad. How have they been so far? Do they hook real well? Give me ALL the details!
BTW, where did you get them & for much if I can ask? pm me if you want.

They look REAL HEAVY to me! Remember, the weight on a tire is ROTATING WEIGHT (weight the motor has to turn), vs simple weight hanging on the frame. In bicycling, the rule of thumb is that an extra ounce on a wheel, is equal to an extra pound on the frame. Best to keep those wheels as light as possible!
There is a post on the board from a guy who rides here in So. Calif. He found that the Razrs tend to make the bike want to "swap ends". That is, the back end slides out to the side under hard acceleration. I found the same with the Holeshot H-D. My hunch is that tires like this just don't like any kind of hardpack. Let us know how they work out.

My DS is heavy though anyway.
Actually I already compared them to the Ohtsu 501 radials. The I-razors weren't that much more weight.
Here are the details:
22x7x10
Maxxis 12.3lbs. (website)
Ohtsu 12.1 (email reply from company)
20x11x9
Maxxis 17.9lbs
Ohtsu 14.4
A fair tradeoff to me for the 6 ply rating. Plus the front is almost the same weight.
Keep us updated.

i let you guys know tonight im gonna try them out today. i ride alot of xc type terrain though and a gain in weight is a fair trade for a 6 ply ratining. these are radial construction and not bias so they are supposed to be a better riding tire and i THINK they are lighter than the razr 2's but im not completely sure
