Mr350X, according to your stradegy, you couldent go full throttle for 40hrs of riding. Thats a long long long time. Thats almost 2 full days of non-stop ridinG!!

There's no way I could make it that long without wide open throttle on a new quad. It was hard enough to make it through a tank of gas when I got my recon rebuilt.

That is correct.
Synthetic does not allow enough friction to allow the rings to seat properly.
Use regular (non-synthetic oil) to break it in, then switch to a fully synthetic if you'd like.

nothing should ever be ridden hard then put away wet. You never want to utilize that moisture to its fullest extent. Besides....excess moisture could cause long term damage lol

I broke my quad in with letting it warm up for a while, then riding around for 5 hours 1/2 to 3/4 throttle, not any sort of hard riding, then after the 5-10 hours I rode it out full throttle and just took it easy until two tanks of gas went through it.

My friend just hoped on and drove it like he drives it now, and it runs like ****., we both own the same quad, same year, except I bought mine in 2002 and he bought his in 2003.

Jibrille, that sounds more like a year/ manufacturing issue more than a break in issue..........
