I bought a 86 250 fourtrx and I have no spark. When I took the left side crank case cover off there was oil pressent. Can this prevent me from having a spak?

 

Some stators are oil bathed. Get a service manual and check it out!

 

On Yamaha's the stator is oil soaked. Check the fibre wrapping for tears and check near the plastic top and bottom. Chances are the could be leakage.
