No you do not need to run race gas... Just always use 92/93 and you will be fine.. OK my kinda performance report... Since I broke my wrist (and I sent my rear shock to CT Racing/TCS oh by the way CT has a new rear shock for the 400EX it is $850... I talked to todd and he says the performance on the new and rebuilt are the same.. He has a few people running the rebuilt and New Shock and there is no differrence in performance/handling)I cannot give you a ride report but a idle report New FMF Bowerbomb Header and Curtis Sparks +6 degree timing key. I put a new sparkplug in for my test to get a read on the plug but until someone can get out and ride it I will not be able to tell about main jet size.. Well after about 20 min warm up (wasn't started for a week and a half) I hit the throttle.. GOD D**N!!! The throttlre response is amazing... In Stead of soundling like bbbrrrrooommmm it sounded like VROOOMM!!! I was like D**N... Couldn't get enough of the change of the sound.. I attribute that to the powerbomb flowing more air... It quieted the powercore a little just at idle.. Once you punched it you could not tell the difference in the sound level but you could tell the difference in power output(Timing Key)/flow of sound/air(PowerBomb)... SWeeetttt...

6 degrees sounds like quite a bit of advance... I know if I advance my V8 another 6 degrees (on top of the 10 degrees base advance it already has) it would ping like a sonuvagun. But, of course that all depends on what timing Honda was running stock.. maybe stock timing only has 4-5 degrees of base advance, in which case another 6 degrees would work great. Keep an ear out for pinging Skunky, and let us know how it does. Too bad you didn't get a chance to check the power increase of the power bomb and timing key separately.

I think you want the notched side of the key facing the back.

When you put the flywheel on make sure you turn it to the left before you tighten it down. I dont know much about cdi with the key. +3 key is ok for high compression motor. +6 key is for under 11:1
