At the minimum..drain the gas, and use it in something else, because next spring itll be bad. Drain the float bowl dry, this will keep the carb from plugging up. Either pull the battery inside, or put it on a battery tender. If its only gonna sit 6 months, this should be good enough.

another thing you could do is to roll the motor over untill it is on the compression stroke. this will seal the cylinder from alot of moisture that can leak in thru the intake/exhaust valves.

take a teaspoon or just a little less and put that in your piston and turn over your engine without the plug.

Drain the oil, and change the oil filter before you put it away also.
This should keep the motor free of acids and contaminants which is good for neither the internals, nor the seals.

No need to drain your tank, fill your tank up, to prevent condensation in your tank. Use Staybil or other fuel stabilizer in your last tank of fuel prevents varnish buildup and also has an anti-bacterial/fungal agent to prevent stuff from growing in the carbs and fuel left in your tank. If you don't drain the tank, make sure to store full of fresh gas with additional stabilizer to prevent condensation.

Antibacterial/antifungal agent??
I've never known any bacteria, or fungus to be able to live in gas??

Is this after it has sat for over a year or????
I'm confused!

It is probably for along the walls of the inside of your tank. I always put my quad on a couple of 10x2's to keep the tires off the cold concrete, as that tends to make your tires crack and dry out.
