Default winter storage?

*****, gasoline WILL turn the prettiest green you have ever seen, if it sits for a while!!
I didn’t believe it either until it cost me a fortune to have all the algae removed from my tank, carb and the lines. It almost looked like Prestone Antifreeze.

Now I use a stabilizer called Seafoam to the gas tank (used mainly in lawn mowers and tractors stored for the winter). Seafoam serves the same purpose as the "Stabil" Daranello mentioned earlier. But I was told not to put it in a 2-stroke engine. If I’m not mistaken, I believe the guy said it would separate the gas/oil. Not for sure though. Can anyone back me up on this?

If you’re storing it for several months and don’t add some type of stabilizer, it’s gonna cost ya!

Ok, thanks for the clarification.
We had some gas in one of the Banshees for over 2 years, and never had any problems with it? Thats why I was confused.

Personally, I would just ride the damn thing, but since you can't ride it, I would drain the oil and gas, remove carb and stuff intake with clean shop cloth. Drain float bowl, and put carb in ziplock baggy. I would even drain coolant and when you get back on her in the spring time, flush the radiator and gas tank. Put in fresh oil and filter and you're set. Just make sure you're storage is warm and has low humidity, and this should help with condensation building up.

no.. no oil in the gas tank... after you take out your plug put a little bit less then a teaspoon of fresh oil in the cylendar, then turn over your engine without the plug in and put the plug back in...
everything else you said is good.
