Larry-
The 41 will be a lot of top end, and would work really well for drags. I'd suggest running the FCR 40mm, which you can get for about $350 from servicehonda.com. The cheapest I've found 41's at were a couple hundred $$$ more. That's what I run on mine and you've seen me race before. Good luck!

i am running the 40mm too. however, i haven't found a good way to rig up the intake boot fitting properly. i went out and bought one of those noss adaptors for the intake boot but the noss adaptor is a ways too big. it was made for the 450r. people told me it would do wonders but it isn't cheap. well it doesn't do wonders because it is too big. lol i may just boil that boot and try to make it fit.

Thanks Dane...where on their site did you find it. I went to the aftermarket section and did a search and couldn't find a 40mm FCR. Sudco wants 585 I think it is for thier 41mm with the twist throttle and cable.

On the home page, their is a link at the top that says "Parts", then go to "OEM Hard Parts", scroll down to find "2002-2004 CRF 450" (the carb comes stock on the dirt bike), then find "Carburetor".
The part # you want is... 16100-MEB-771 ...which comes to $353. Finally, find a throttle cable from a 450R, which is like $20 (also from Service Honda). The throttle assembly from your 400EX works perfectly for the cable. The total should be around $380, not too shabby if you ask me!
Oh btw- That carb is from the 2003 model, and is $20 cheaper than the 2002 or 2004. I called Honda to ask the differences and the only thing they said was different were the main and pilot jets that come in them...one was like a 170 and the other a 175 on the main...LMAO, I guess that's their way of getting an extra 20 bucks outta someone who thinks they are getting an updated carb!
Lemme know when you need some jetting specs, I should be able to give ya some help so you don't have to start off blind!
