when im riding my 400ex im riding in 1st gear and when i shift into second it goes into neutral and then i dont realize this and i rev the engine loud then i pull up again and it will shift into 2nd whats the problem????

 

it doesnt do this everytime though.... but still can someone help

 

well if you've ever tried to go into neutral you know it's one gear down 4 up. And neutral is half a shift up from 1st. You just don't fully pull up when you shift to 2nd.

 

When I got new boots i had to adjust the foor shifter. It is easy to do go one tooth down.. all you need is an alan wrench

 

It could be the position of your shifter doesn't agree with what you're wearing on your feet. Or try concentrating more on shifting up harder. When I miss shifts like that I blame it on my foot being lazy.

 

I have been having problems with my shifters feel also, last night I extended mine about an 1 1/4" and it feels much more comfortable, especially with my riding boots. I will post how I like it longer after riding it tonight(gotta put on my new LRD pipe and uni filter!!)

 

when was the last time you changed your oil?
