Well, you don't want the Rubicon for speed. It only tops out around 50mph. But as far as the snow and mud, not much snow around where I live but mud I haven't had any problems at all. Never been in real high water so I can't help you there.

answer to all three
1.53mph
2. snow it sucks, just because the lack of a locker and gc
3. same with mud, because the lack of a locker and gc.
4. deep water, i learned my lesson, by sinking my vinson three times, rubicon doent ford that deep of water much often, but i assume as long as you keep the exhaust and intake about you will be fine.

a locker is a locking front end and gc is ground clearance.
i have a 04 rubicon and im very happy with it.
when i first got it it dident have very much gc but i added a 1 1/2" lift kit and 26" mud lites and now im very happy with it.
its not very fast.
the best i can get out of mine is 50 miles per hour.
but thats is fast enuff for me.
on the trails i think it a great quad. and in water i've had mine up to the headlights and kept going.
and in the snow (and we get lots of snow here in BC) ii havent road it in very deep snow yet.
but my friend has an 03 and last year his rubicon with stock tires did better then most quads with stock tires.
i think that as long as you keep it moving it will do pretty good.
i know for a fact the if the snow is to deep anyone will get stuck .
i have a few pics of my quad going through some water on my page and a few pics of my rube in about 4" of snow a third of the way up a ski hill that i went up during hunting season and i never had a problem getting up it.
i went up about half way and turned around and went back down to where it is in the pick and sat there for a few hours and watched for moose.
no luck though.
check out the pics on my page and see what you think.

well i have an o3 rubi and it tops out at 58 to 61 running a higher octane gas it great in snow and water i barly ever get stuck with the 27 in itp 589 tires on it and plus if you know how to ride an atv if you get stuck, most of the time you shouldnt have any problems getting out. my dad paid a bout 300 dollers to get a gearless locker put in it works awsome ...................im 15 also

the lift kit is about $80 canadian.
and let your friend brake trail and youll keep up just fine.
thats what all my friends did last winter when i had my 03 500 arctic cat.
i broke trail and thay just followed behind.
the rubicon is a very good quad and they are very relieable.
and with othe 05s coming out with the 2 or 4 wheel drive and front disk brakes it will be the best in its class.
