Default 04 Recon price

I am looking to get into my first entry level ATV. I plan to use it for very simple utility work. Mainly yard and garden work and pulling my lawn cart, fertilizer spreader and leaf rake. I will also use it for hunting some. I am looking at 04 Honda Recons and Suzuki Ozarks. My dealer carries both brands. MSRP is around $3300.00 with $400.00 off for being an 04 holdover. then they add about $400.00 in freight and another +- $200.00 in tax and title to make it about $3400.00 otd. Is this price about right or can I do better?

good choice with the recon... i got mine (04 left over) for $2854, and if i used an out of state licensence i could save tax....i didnt so i ended up paying $3104 OTD in my truck... plus a free hat. the hitches are only 29$ at CycleCountry and they will have most other garden stuff you might need.
YOU CAN DO BETTER> pretend you have gotton quotes from other dealers, and talk alot about competition, get the salemen wanting you to buy it not you. i kept talkin about the bear tracker, its big size strenth and discs... but id never buy one... you may wanna read this...my old post
hope that helped, good luck.. check out my pics.

My local dealer was moving to a new location and I was able to help them clear some inventory on the day before they started moving. I paid $2999 plus tax on a 2004 Recon ES. I thought it was a pretty good deal, but some others have said other dealers were even lower than that. I didn't want to drive to pick it up so I bought it. The manual shift was even less ($2899 I think) but they only had it in red and I wanted a green one.

When I got the final bill, they had discounted the sales price, but added their setup/freight/delivery fees into the bottom line. Same price for me, number swapping for them. Go figure?
