MUDLITES! THE ONLY WAY TO GO!
#1
Just got in from riding again. It has rained for the last two days so it was muddy and slick everywhere. We went to mountain lake which is none for being so rough and washed out. Mud holes to the top of your fenders, ruts deeper than that, and power lines straight up and down washed out with rocks and ledges, scares the hound out of me..I thought it would be bad news today with it being so wet, but the mudlites didnt let me down anywhere! One guy had mudlites on his rancher and they were probably 75% worn out, but he went the whole trip and we only pulled him out of one hole. No need for anymore tire questions. MUDLITES!!!!

Im looking into getting new tires. I have heard about the ITP mudlight seems that there the best ones on the market as we speak. What size is 2 big to go with a 2001 honda fourtrax 350 ? I was thinking 26" it that too big or no?
Thanks Joe

I went with 25inch and 1inch wider front and rear and my rancher 350 with no problems. I dont think the 26inch would be a good idea, probably hit the fender braces and drain too much power from your machine. I have the 26inch on my Foreman 450 and had to add the performance kit to get back the power plus a little extra, after changing to the bigfoot kit. I dont know how long they will last road riding as one person asked, but since they are 6ply tires and the ***** are pretty darned hard, i suspect they will last great. They have been on the rancher now about 6 months and hardly show any wear. I have only had them on the Foreman for about a month or so now. I started out with the ITP589 mud and snow. They flipped me over a couple of times so I sold them and went to the mudlites. They handle twice as easy! Feels like power steering with these all around. One of my friends has had a set on his rancher 4wd for over a year now and they still havent worn the demples out of the lugs yet. He rides almost once a week i would say..Best darned tires I have ever found! They just keep amazing me.

There are no clearance issues with 26" mudlites on a rancher, at least with +1 offset wheels. From my experience the extra tread depth and qualities of the 26" tire far exceed the minor power losses.

My bud has Mudlites. They are wearing more than 2 times faster than my Gators. My Gators even has twice as many miles on them. No he doesn't spend a lot of time spinning them. They are just a softer rubber compound. He also has a lot of trouble with sidewall punctures. We lost count of plugs. Gators-- never a problem.

Helloo all. I heard the same about mudlites...great tire but many flats on the side wall. I recently bought Kenda Bear Claws for the rear of my Rancher 2x4. Couldn't be happier, 6 ply very chunky thread, non-stoppable in the mud. I now keep up with the 4x4 quads in our group. I sometimes work a little more to make it through while they just sit there and gas it...but isn't that half the fun. You should see the look on their faces when I make it through a mud hole that they almost get stuck in. BEAR CLAWS all-the-way!!!!!
