I tend to agree that it is also somewhat normal. I spoke with another mechanic at a seperate dealership, and he stated that this normal. I began to trust him a lot more after he informed me that he also owned a 400EX. So I guess I will just leave it alone, or move the needle clip like Cals400Ex advised since it is starting to get cool where I live now (Alabama). I appreciate all the advice you fellow riders have give. I thought the DoctorTurbo heat explanation was especially helpful as well. Its pretty amazing at the help you can get from fellow enthusiasts, when you just ask. I still haven't got to take it down the road at night to see exactly what color we hitting, but will definately be able to post a result this upcoming weekend.
