I searched for tips on sealing up and snorkeling. Not much to find.
Can someone explain this procedure? I saw one that had a couple things that were also attatched to the pipe. The guy said they were carb lines. I didn't know what he was talking about.

what u are doing is sealing up and rasing the snorkal. basicaly all you have to do is clean your airfilter, than use some sylicone or gasket sealer to seal up the airbox. now you have to rase the snorkal buy using pvc pipe or anything else to rase it out of the water.

I was able to snorkle my 1995 TRX300 2WD very easily....it took a little time spent looking around at home depot, but if you will look for a hot tub hose with at least a 1 1/2 inch diameter, you will also be able to find pvc fittings that will adapt the hose to your airbox without having to cut a bigger hole. I think I wound up using a male threaded joiner, and filed down the threaded portion to make it fit snugly in the hole where the factory snorkel went.
Because the hose had an inner diameter that was very close to the stock snorkel's size, I did not need to make any adjustments to the carb jetting.
I ran the hose along underneath the tank and over to the top of the left side fender, then curved it up to where it was about 4 inches above my handlebars. I used a 90 degree elbow at the top, facing it backwards, (and the elbow was threaded on the inside so that I could screw in a cap for powerwashing)I made an antenna support out of threaded stock, and attached the threaded stock to a bicycle seat clamp that went around the front rack. The hose was held to the quad and support mast with zip ties (I drilled small holes in the fenders)
I used silicone sealer very generously at all seams
I used several feet of black rubber tubing to vent the brakes, engine, carb, to the top of the snorkel mast
I have run this quad through my pond with water over the handlebars MANY times, without so much as a sputter. I also had a muffler guy weld a 6" long 90 degree angled pipe to the end of my exhaust, and then flare the pipe tip so that I could stick an extension into it whenever I was going through deep water. (a removable exhaust snorkel in other words)
If only Honda made disc brakes on the TRX, I would not have bought my new Vinson (well, not true...it was time to go bigger)

Hi,
It's been a short time since I started this thread. A lot has happened. Mainly, my Recon was stolen.Dec.22 at 3am. They tried to take my DS 650 too. My dog alerted me that something was wrong and I went outside to find my little Recon gone and my DS down the road pushed in to the bushes. The sheriff saw the truck with my Recon in the back and said "They got away. " I have been writing about this in the Bomb section. I have received a phone call night before last and was told I might have it back this week if the #'s match. Someone will help me retrieve it from it's new home.

OKAY!
Here is an update without pictures yet.
I went to Home Depot and bought a 3ft length of 1-1/4" "Spa Flex" pool hose. It is pretty thick and it fit's perfect into the airbox hole. $7.44
I bought 5' of THIN WALLED 1-1/2 PVC. $1.15
Two 90° 1-1/2 PVC elbows. $1.78
I bought some water plastic tubing that is in the same isle as the pipe. It is for water systems or refridgerators w/ ice maker or water/ ice dispenser. It says " polyethylene tubing 1/4"od X .170"id . I used this for the vent tube extensions. $1.70 for a 25' length.
The connector end for this hose will need to be 3/16th" .
1 tube of clear silicone. $2.79
1 hose clamp $1.10
sealtape $5.29
zip ties
I bought vent connectors from an auto parts place.
For the Recon there will be 3 vent tubes that must be snorkeled with the airbox snorkel.
I used a y connector for the rear vent hoses. The hoses need an 1/8" connector. So the Y will have 2 1/8 " ends going into one 3/16" (this way you keep the # of tubes to 2 coming out to meet the snorkel)
I connected right behind the gas tank and ran underneath to the front rack hole on the left. That will run up and need to be zip tied to airbox snorkel.
The carb vent connector is 3/16 X 3/16. I connected that and ran over and out the same rack hole and zip tied up the airbox snorkel, too.
This poly whatever hose is perfect. It is bigger for the rear vents, which I think, since it is being extended so much, it should be bigger. It is strong and flexible Make sure it is secured underneath by running through some wires or frame.
Okay the spa hose goes into the airbox. (first remove factory snorkel) I siliconed the existing attachment out of the airbox. Don't skimp here on the silicone.
The hose runs out an opening by the cylider head and the frame on the left and on to the fender. The fender on my 03 has a curve in the front that acts as a guide. (I used a heat gun to bend the hose and pipe the way I wanted) I used an 8" piece of the PVC underneath the rack but on top of the plastic. It fits snug right in the crux with a 90° elbow attatched. I shoved the flex hose into that 8" PVC and glued it in. I also used a hose clamp and wrapped sealing tape around that joint and also the one at the airbox.
Then I ran the PVC straight up 10" and added another 90° elbow (facing rear)
Then zip tie the now two vent tubes up the side. I cross zipped the snorkel to the rack
WAL'LA!
It took longer to write this than it did to do the job!
Tonight is going to be cold down here. All the way down into the 50's
So I might wait until later in the week when it get's back in to the 70's-80's to test it out.
Just kidding! I will test it out tonight for sure!
I have my waders!
>>
Just some added notes.
Tested it out and everything seemed okay. Then Thbbbbbb burb fart!
I needed to seal, with silicone, the airbox lid, the airbox snorkel attatchment that swivels, and the vent connectors.
I used a flowable windshield silicone-clear.
I also bought 2 6" long pieces of 1/4 " copper tubing. I sealed each one over the ends of the vent tubes on the snorkel. I bent them into little candycanes and they are attatched to both sides of the snorkel. Looks good!
Have fun!

The next day I received my lift kit from Highlifter.com and workd into the night installing it. It looked AWESOME!!
I couldn't wait to try it out.
6 hrs later---it was gone. Never even got to tr it out. Everything I worked so hard for-gone. Sadly, I will be working hard for it for the next 4 years.
Some scumbag who doesn't know the meaning of hard work took it. Anybody that knows me knows that I have never had anything new.
Take care and don't hesitate to ask me any questions.
Brian

I recently purchased a snorkel kit for my 06 foreman from a small company called Top choice ATV. These guys make a truly quality product. You see very little of the PVC until it comes out of the front fender. Were most snorkel kits use 1 inch or 1.5 inch pipe these guys use full 2 inch from front to back so that I did not have any power loss. They are still getting a website set up but when I bought my snorkel they said that they would have one up by the end of this month and it would be TopChoiceATV.com. Like I said I met these guys personally and they know what they are talking about.
