Well I'm close enough to you and my cousin has a stock raptor, we can race.

I'd like to find this place where physics stands on its head, I could use a little help beating a few yfzs banshees and zillas from bull gap.

Seriously though, where do you ride?

Thanks for bringing up the oldest line in the history of online forums too.

I am actually thinking about getting the YFZ 450 in spring 05. I don't feel like less of a man if I lose a drag race on my quad, so I don't really care. I am just telling you what happened. Personally I don't see the big deal about the Kawsucat or the Rappys compared to the 400ex (except reverse). But the rappy could climb a tree if you can hang on to it. I know they are a little faster topend and start to walk away around fourth. But I see my buddies taken there's to the shop alot more than I do. Now the YFZ made me pee a little bit. Arguiing on the internet is like competing in special olympics. Even if you win, you are still retarded.
The only reason I posted was to set the record straight from my past experience. Why? Because we could possibly have people reading this thread that are thinking about buying a new sport quad that need good information. Maybe your 400ex runs better than most or something?? Good luck on your next purchase. I recommend keeping your 400ex for when your YFZ is broke down.

I'm in Metamora right off of 24 about 14 miles north of the palace. I think the Mounds in Flint is closed right now. But I think that is kind of a pu$$y track anyway. But I know some trails we can hit. If you want to travel to Hillsdale county (about two hours from Detroit) there is a killer track right next to my Dad's house with mongloid doubles, lots of pass/fails. We can drag race out there on the dirt road for miles. I am busy with holiday stuff till the first of the year, plus I am moving. It is going to be sloppy afer that, not like it isn't now. But I am more than happy to meet you guys and race. I am always looking for someone to ride with....... If we go to hillsdale though, we need to bring a tig welder and torch so my buddy with the new Rappy will have to go. The track is primarily set up for bikes and is dangerous for quads. But it is a dirty hard ride.

Sorry, but a stock z would have a hard time getting that close to a stock raptor, let alone a 400ex.
I personally watched a guy (that was new to riding anything) on a stock Z400 maul a piped 400ex. I was very surprised with the Z400 performance.....nice machine no doubt.
I never lost to a stock Z with my piped 400EX, my piped EX ran with piped Z's(my brother has one). If a stock Z beat a piped 400EX something was very wrong.

I'll be at the Palace on saturday for a basketball game, what a coincidence.

I have a raptor, they dont like tracks. At least not mx ones. I know, I've tried and it wasnt pretty. But if you ever want to make a run to silver lake or bull gap let me know.

Good point gary. After all the point of these forums are to help people both before and after the purchase of their atv. Its the responsibility of the members to keep the information as correct and unbiased as possible.

You know what though, after reading your message again, you got a punk mouth. I also box competitively and fight mixed martial arts. If you want to be a smart ***, maybe we could go down to my gym and I can break your jaw or elbow or something. My number is 248-854-7970. Call me and we can roll. But maybe the physics will be different there too. I doubt it, but maybe.

For someone telling others not to argue on the internet you sure do have a quick and violent temper... Did you not happen to notice the smiley face and winking face?

I was tought boxing by a former olympian and olympic coach so dont try to impress me with your "competitive" fighting credentials.

In the 400ex pipe shootout, the White Bros pipe came out on top. It gave the 400ex 1 horsepower on top end. I am sure the real help came down lower in the rpm range. Unfortunately, when drag racing you are using the upper end of the rpm range...or should be anyway. So asuming you are using the best pipe available, realistically, is 1 horsepower gonna make a real difference?

So you're saying that mine and bullhoggrande past experience is bad information? Saying that a stock Z400 can maul on a piped 400EX is bad information, I've raced that race to many times. The Z and the 400EX run really close, the Raptor has a slight edge on them, and the 450's hand all of them there butt.. that's the truth.

I wasn't using a slip on, I have a full system. But yes it did make a difference.
