IMO if you are willing to spend the money for the 05 ex then you would be better off with the extra 300 bucks on the 450R. If you are more concerned about cost then the 04 ex would be the better choice.

With a payment that low, it's probably 60 months(5 years)

DO NOT get the 04' ex! That is to much for the year and model. I paid less than that for an 04' Z400 back in the spring.

If you don't like to do much maintnance and ride tight trails, go with the 400ex, for everything else I would get the 450R.

Where did you get a new Z400 for $4800? Thats not typical for a Z and its not a bad price for an 04 400EX either.

If it's a 60 month term(which makes the most sense) here are the numbers.

450R
$110 X 60=$6600

05' 400EX
$92 X 60=$5520

04' 400EX
$82 X 60=$4920

Either you're getting a better interest rate on the 400EX's or he's tacking on some additional charges to the 450R.

i think you should go with the R, unless reverse is a must.... but youll probably be more happy with the larger engine, suspension, lighter chassis, and new electric start... but the 400 ex is nice. lol

I would definately go for the 450R. It's just an all around better quad except for the reverse, but I've never been in a situation where reverse was absolutely necessary!
