are you saying the LTE system revs higher than the x-6?? just curious. i can't put out enough power to suit my x-6 yet. my bike runs pretty good too. i have a feeling if i put on a LRD or somethign similar it would be quicker. the x-6 isn't great unless your riding at the rev limit. lol top end is where i suffer. in 5th gear i am not at a high enough rpm. i can't run taller gearing than stock or it will be slower (because once again, i am lowering the rpm i am riding at).

The sparks pipes are right up there in performance. For most quads, the power increase from low RPM to at least 6000 RPM is right up there. Most dual exhausts will out perform in the over-rev range - Its simply a matter of increased flow. But that increase in flow doesn't help you under 6000 RPM, it actually hurts you compared to pipes like the Sparks. It just depends where your mods are - for me, my motor is built for high rev, so thats why I got the LTE. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Sparks pipe - Its probably one of the best out there. So it looks like we agree there.

Where I ride there are DB limits as well. So the sparks wouldn't fit the bill for me. The LTEs are naturally quieter, since they have two mufflers instead of one. The dual LTEs will start to out perform the stock exhaust starting at 3200 RPM all the way 7100 RPM. Peak HP gains are 5.8 hp over the stock exhaust. But if you have your EX built for high RPM performance, your gains will be even more. DB tickets are about a $150 a pop where I am at. My DS has the Ron Wood Racing pipe, its about 105db at 2000 RPM - Not good!

Put a 16 tooth front sproket and ride it like you stole it.

I have the 16 tooth in front, I am not to happy with it. Yes it keeps me from hitting the rev limit, but a loss of power and speed on the upper end. I am going back to the 15. The sparks pipe is awesome too.

i had the 16 front on and my bike was so much slower in 4th and 5th gears. the 16 would probably be a benefit more than a 1/2 mile floored on a road, but i guarantee it would take that long on my 406 or 426. i never had this problem before i put on my x-6. i absolutely loved my 16 before this pipe. now it needs the lower gearing so my bike stays at higher rpms.

i considered buying the lte also but i can't justify that for the price. i had my x-6 coated by a company that works with nasa also. so, i paid $490 for the stainless x-6 plug $175 for the exterior to be coated. i will kind of be in the hole if i get rid of this and spend a ton more on the LTE.

Do not buy White Bros Rev boxes. They are selling you a box that is not designed for the 400ex. It is a rev box for something like an xr250 which has been sold for years (told that by persons working at White Bros). Some people will have no difficulty with them but many people have had problems with them including myself. I have an Electrix rev box which has no rev limiter and revs higher than the White Bros box and have seen no problems with these.

Actually the older WB box was for the XR250, but Procom now engineers the new ones. I'm still waiting for the Vortex.

Do you know how to tell if you are getting a new one or an old one?

The old ones have WB hand engraved on them. The new ones do not.

I must have one of the old ones then, but I have not had any problems other than it doesn't start in cold weather with it in. But in the summer it makes quite the difference.
